Short Video of Classroom Presentation

Video of Students and Performers. Enjoy. Check out Richardpaul.ca for the full recordings.

Guest Performers

Hello,
Grade 10's had the privilege of a classroom visit from local award winning song writers and performers, Richard Paul, Peter Birney and Ms. Evie Morrison (an OHS teacher). The group performed numerous songs and presented about music in their lives, song writing and the inspirations in their lives. Please check out the photos below. This was a great opportunity and inspiration for students who are currently writing their first blues song. Check back later for our own songs. Thank you to Ms. Morrison who brought the artists in. Check out www.richardpaul.ca to listen to some of the music that the students had the privilege to hear.
Cheers
Ms. Hsu

Dates to remember

We have just started our new unit of guitar and it has been going great. We will be focusing on blues as the foundation of popular music and students will be composing their own blues. We have learned our first piece, "Horse with no name" by America. Here is an update of days that students do not need to be in school.
Nov 9 - Student conferences (1:30 - 3:30pm)
Nov 12 - Civic Holiday (remembrance day)
Nov 13 - Curriculum Development day

Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions.
Cheers
Ms. Hsu

Report cards will be given out next week.
